Company History

The legacy of Malibu® begins in 1982 with the passion of six California friends who loved watersports, like wakeboarding and particularly water skiing. The friends felt that they could manufacture better boats for towing watersports participants like themselves, so they developed their own wake and ski boats and christened their enterprise “Malibu,” after their favorite area to water ski in. Malibu boats are designed to be high-performance and great for towing wakeboarders, wakesurfers, inner tubers, and water skiers.
